Job applications
Applications and job interviews in German
Your CV is written, but does it sound right? And what do you answer when you are asked about your weaknesses in the interview? We practise both.
What we practise
From application to interview
- A CV in German – structure, wording, pitfalls
- A cover letter that fits the job, not the template
- Typical interview questions – and good answers to them
- Practising the interview as a role play, with feedback
- Wording for salary, working hours and follow-up questions
How we proceed
Your documents as the starting point
You send me your application documents in advance. We go through them together, revise them sentence by sentence and then practise the interview – with the questions that are actually asked in your industry.
A good match for this: German for work.
Frequently asked questions
Questions I am often asked
How many lessons will I need for that?
For the documents and a well-rehearsed interview, a few sessions are usually enough. After a first look at your documents I will tell you what is realistic.
Will you correct my CV?
Yes – and I explain why a particular wording works better. That way you can write the next application yourself.
Do we really practise the interview?
Yes, as a role play. It is uncomfortable, and that is exactly why it works.
An application coming up?
Send me your documents and the job advertisement – we will go through them together.
